Symphony version 5 now has full primary and secondary grading and realtime ultimatte capability. This along with 10 bit processing makes it an ideal tool for top end programme making, including multi-layer complex graphic sequences.

Included in the suite are a number of additional software packages and plug-ins including Photoshop, Boris, After FX and Sapphire.

We are able to handle source material from a wide variety of formats including Digi Beta, SX, DVCAM, Beta SP and material generated on disk by graphics programmes such as Photoshop and 3D Studio. Other equipment includes a Snell & Wilcox ARC, VHS dupe bank, DVD authoring and web streaming/encoding with monitoring.

In 1998 1st Cut took delivery of the first Symphony system outside London.

Symphony is a completely uncompressed non linear editing system. It is fully compatible with Avid offline suites so that all programme information is carried from the offline to the online. This includes dissolves, wipes, keys, titles, colour grading and all effects, even audio dissolves, levels and equalisation.
